2007
Class Size Census
Please
note that there was a correction made to the last paragraph
on page 1 of the document. It should read: 2007 - On
average there is a decrease of 3.5% in classes exceeding
the ACOL levels. The survey reflects a downward trend;
however, the number of classes over 30 students (straight
count) for junior high (16%) and senior high (24%) continues
to be in the double digit percentages and this is unacceptable.
While the Division I rate appears more reasonable at only
1%, there are still 72 of the classes surveyed that have
over 30 students, where children at their most vulnerable
stage of learning may be critically affected.
