Professional
Development Committee
a. Membership
The
committee shall consist of six (6) members elected by the Council
of School Representatives and a Chair elected by the general
membership of the Local.
b. Functions
The
role of the Professional Development Committee shall be to advance
and promote effective professional development for the membership.
Its functions shall be to:

assess
the professional development needs of the membership,
-
maintain
liaison with the ATA, Edmonton Public Schools, school professional
development representatives, GETCA, and the Edmonton Regional
Consortium,
-
gather
and disseminate information regarding professional development
opportunities,
-
provide
leadership within the local structure regarding professional
development issues,
-
monitor
and regularly report on the Mentorship Program.
c. Meetings
This
committee shall meet at least five (5) times in each school
year. Notices of meetings shall be given at least three (3)
days prior to the meeting to all members except that, in special
circumstances, shorter notice may be given.
d. Quorum
The
quorum of this committee shall be a majority of the voting members.
